Ein Doppelname und eine Doppelstadt, in der es fast alles doppelt gibt. Deshalb zuerst ein Besuch in Doberlug und seinen Einzigartigkeiten.

Einer der vielen Orte Brandenburgs, an denen man nicht einfach vorbei fahren sollte. Die Aue an der Hauptstraße beherbergt viele Geschäfte, Café und Eisdiele. Rund herum die Mischung aus Idylle und Verfall, die viele Orte der Umgebung prägt. Auch ein Schloß darf hierbei nicht fehlen. Irgendwie hat man immer den Eindruck, das nächste Gut, Schloss oder Herrenhaus ist nur 3-4 km entfernt. Selten so groß und mit einem Kloster verbunden wie hier. Schloß Doberlug liegt am Ortseingang und beherbergt die Tourismusinformationen und ein Museum. Gleich daneben das Zisterzienserkloster mit einem großen Refektorium und der Kirche St. Marien. Der Hof drumherum sieht unpassend aus, was offensichtlich an seiner früheren Nutzung als Truppenstandort der Roten Armee und später der NVA liegt. Das gesamte Gelände war mit Baracken bebaut.

Heute dient es als Kulturstandort mit Rock am Schloss und Theater.

A double name and a double town, where almost everything exists twice. So let’s start with a visit to Doberlug and its unique features.

One of the many places in Brandenburg that you shouldn’t just drive past. The meadow on the main street is home to many shops, cafés and ice cream parlours. All around is the mixture of idyll and decay that characterises many places in the area. A castle is also a must-see. Somehow you always get the impression that the next estate, castle or manor house is only 3-4 kilometres away. Rarely as large and connected to a monastery as here. Doberlug Castle is located at the entrance to the village and houses the tourist information centre and a museum. Right next to it is the Cistercian monastery with a large refectory and St Mary’s Church. The courtyard around it looks out of place, which is obviously due to its former use as a Red Army and later NVA military base. The entire site was covered with barracks.

Today it serves as a cultural venue with Rock am Schloss and a theatre.
