Trappen sind die größten flugfähigen Vögel und entsprechend wenige gibt es noch von ihnen. Das liegt nicht am Flugverhalten, sondern an den Brutstätten und dem Speiseplan. Durch industrielle Landwirtschaft werden die Lebensräume immer weniger, Bejagung hat sie reduziert und eine ICE Strecke den Verbreitungsraum durchschnitten. Nun werden sie geschützt und gehegt. Von Plattformen mutieren Besucher zu Suchenden in der Landschaft. Ganz da hinten bewegt sich was. Ob Hase oder Trappe, läßt sich nicht immer klären, aber es ist spannend, die ganze Landschaft zu durchforsten.
Der Förderverein unterhält eine Infostation (Buckower Dorfstraße 34, 14715 Nennhausen) und danach gehts auf zu Kaffee, Kuchen, Limonade nach Liepe in die Alte Brennerei (Breite Straße, Nennhausen, OT Liepe). Dahinter befindet sich eine „Slawische Ringburg“ und eine Arche für Tiere. Abends gibt’s Tanz und Tango. Und das alles auf dem platten Land.
Bustards are the largest flying birds and, accordingly, there are very few of them left. This is not due to their flying behaviour, but to their breeding grounds and diet. Industrial agriculture is reducing their habitats, hunting has reduced their numbers, and an ICE railway line has cut through their range. Now they are protected and cherished. From platforms, visitors become seekers in the landscape. Something is moving way back there. It’s not always clear whether it’s a hare or an bustard, but it’s exciting to scan the entire landscape.
The association maintains an information station (Buckower Dorfstraße 34, 14715 Nennhausen), and afterwards it’s off to Liepe for coffee, cake and lemonade at the Alte Brennerei (Breite Straße, Nennhausen, OT Liepe). Behind it is a ‘Slavic ring fort’ and an ark for animals. In the evening, there is dancing and tango. And all this in the middle of the countryside.
