Theodor Fontane und Herrmann Wiesike gingen hier gerne spazieren und speisten zusammen am See. Die Villa Wiesike auf dem Gut Margaretenhof ist heute eine Ruine und das Grabmal der Familie im Wald ist, trotz der verwitterten Hinweisschilder, schwer zu finden. Hinter einem Bauhof erahnt man eine Allee, die zu der etwas runtergekommenen Anlage führt. Drumherum Freitzeit- und Fischereianlagen, Hofladen und die Brücke nach Plaue auf der Gegenüber liegenden Seite. Die Brücke wird zur Zeit erneuert und ist deshalb geschlossen.
In Plaue, einen ehemaligen Fischerdorf, steht ein ziemlich großes Schloss derer von Görne und später von Königsmarck. Bis in die 1990er Jahre noch genutzt, verfällt es leider immer mehr. Hier wohnten Zaren und Könige und Brandenburg wurde teilweise vor hier aus regiert. Im Schloßpark steht eine große Tontaubenschießanlage, die einzig erhaltene dieser Art. Auf dem Weg zum Ort steht die Kirche mit großem Friedhof und den Grabstätten der ehemaligen Schlossherren.
Theodor Fontane and Herrmann Wiesike enjoyed taking walks here and dining together by the lake. Villa Wiesike on the Margaretenhof estate is now in ruins, and the family’s grave in the forest is hard to find, despite the weathered signs. Behind a construction yard, one can make out an avenue leading to the somewhat dilapidated grounds. Surrounding it are recreational and fishing facilities, a farm shop, and the bridge to Plaue on the opposite side. The bridge is currently being renovated and is therefore closed.
In Plaue, a former fishing village, stands a fairly large castle that belonged to the von Görne family and later to the von Königsmarck family. Still in use until the 1990s, it is unfortunately falling into disrepair. Tsars and kings once lived here, and Brandenburg was partly governed from this location. In the castle park stands a large clay pigeon shooting range, the only one of its kind still in existence. On the way to the village is the church with a large cemetery containing the graves of the former lords of the castle.
